Privacy-Preserving and Fault-Tolerant Data Storage

In this talk, I will discuss how to store, retrieve, share, and process data in a privacy-preserving and fault-tolerant manner. First, I will demonstrate practical disk encryption schemes that protect data privacy. Second, I will describe three secure cloud storage and cloud computing systems, including a confidential state machine replication scheme, a causality-preserving state machine replication scheme, and Norton Zone, Symantec's fully functional and scalable cloud storage that supports industry-level encrypted search and secure share.
